You can see the way the magenta leaps out in contrast to the depth of blue that seems to go on forever. They illustrate how encapsulating the clarity, vividness and depth of colour achievable with resin can be appreciated purely as art.

The backlit wall pieces run on low voltage, and can be left on permenantly.

These works and the Gradation of Green table were exhibited together at Saturday In Design in Melbourne.

A series comprising three wall-mounted light sculptures exploring the use of colour and contrast
A striking effect provided by contrasting magenta, cerulean and navy blue discs

In order to fully exploit these colours in different configurations, I chose to create three separate pieces hung in series and lit by fluorescent tube.

They explore a respective mathematical interest in line, squares and randomised uniformity.

The resin material has the clarity, quality and depth to function purely as art
This piece was exhibited at DesignEX in Melbourne.

Following completion of my Gradation of Green resin table, I wanted to continue to explore the colour potential of casting resin, highlighting its three dimensional qualities in a vertical rather than horizontal format.

Experimenting with different colours of resin I was intensely drawn to the contrast of magenta with cerulean and navy blues.
